1 Corinthians 6:19-20
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
If the candle in you is His, then so is the house it burns in. Paul does not soften this — you are not your own. Whatever plans you had for your body, your time, your life, they were made under a misunderstanding. You were bought, and the price was not small.
This is not meant to crush you; it is meant to free you from a burden you were never equipped to carry — the burden of being your own final authority. The candle of the Lord does not burn in a house you own. It burns in a temple He purchased, so that even your body, not just your spirit, has a purpose beyond your own comfort or preference.
You carry a flame in a house that isn't yours. Live like a steward, not a landlord.
