Day 2 — Formed and Filled

Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

God did not simply assemble a body and set it walking. He formed the dust with His own hands and then bent down and breathed into it. That breath is where the candle of the Lord was first lit — not manufactured, not arrived at by chance, but breathed in, person to person, by the mouth of God Himself.

Every person who has ever lived carries the trace of that moment, whether they know it or not. This is why no one can silence conscience completely, why guilt still finds its way through even the hardest heart. The dust did not ask for a soul. God gave it one anyway. And He is still, today, the One who breathes life into what would otherwise remain lifeless dust — yours included, wherever you feel most like dry ground.

The same God who breathed you into being is not finished breathing life into you.
