The Surplus Comes After the Surrender

Day 3

Scripture: John 6:1–13

"There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?" — John 6:9

A boy's lunch. Five loaves. Two fish. Laughably insufficient by any human calculation.

But placed in the hands of Jesus — yielded, surrendered, emptied of its own agenda — it became the vehicle of a miracle that fed thousands with twelve baskets left over.

Notice this: the surplus came after the surrender. The boy did not hold back. He placed everything he had into the hands of Jesus — and Jesus multiplied what was fully given.

What are you holding back today? What small, seemingly insignificant offering are you keeping to yourself — afraid it is not enough? Place it in His hands. The surplus always comes after the surrender.

Prayer

Jesus, here is everything I have. It may seem small and insufficient — but I place it fully in Your hands. Multiply what I surrender. Let the surplus of Your grace flow through a life that holds nothing back. In Your mighty name, Amen. 🙏
